The system caters to bulk scanning and indexing into Document Management System (Humming Bird Document Management System). This supports barcode and blank page separation. Basic functions of the system are as below. The retrieval part is taken care by Humming Bird DMS and does not come in the purview of Document Imaging and Indexing System.

Scanning:

In case of scanning in batches, document separation can be done using bar codes or fixed number of pages per document.

During scanning, the Document type has to be selected and the document will be saved accordingly in the respective folders in the file system, to be available for indexing

Indexing:

Indexing is the process of feeding of identifiers for the documents for future access and retrieval. Some sample profile fields can be Document Type, Client Code, Date, client ID etc, based on the document type selected.

The following figure shows a sample interface of the profiling screen for a Contract Note. The tree menu at the left depicts the document type, the batch in which scanned and the system-generated name of the image.
